I'm a huge fan of his track selection, the leaping across genres and the defining themes that truly work without sticking to the obvious. Gonna be a big post today, dedicated to some musical technician wizard type folks from Glasgow. :)

I got a lot time for Scratchandsniff and the Applescruffs with the awesome they're putting up on soundcloud. Their tune selection demonstrates excellent music taste, which is a good thing of course, but then they enhance those tunes with a skillful, subtle touch that shows real care and respect to the original. Or possibly they actually do some harry-potter-gandalf shit, cos the end result is always magic.

I was listening to the Check Your Head radio show the other night and Steam played Our Day Will Come by Ruby & The Romantics from 1963... I'd heard the Amy Winehouse version, but I must admit I hadn't heard the original before. OK actually I didn't know it existed :P Love it though! Check out the 2 versions and see which you prefer. Both are great of course, but for me the original has a bit more magic :)
